WHO WE ARE
Established in 2020, BOBO Hair Studio is the coming together of Matt and Lisa Borsos, opening their first boutique space in the heart of Blockhouse Bay.
Both began their careers with Servilles Ponsonby in 2003, training under the guidance of Louise Pilkington (Dry & Tea) and Peter Dutton (Wolf & Wolf). Lisa went on to cultivate a loyal clientele in Titirangi, while Matt led and developed teams across Servilles Ponsonby and City Works, shaping a strong foundation in both technical craft and leadership.
As precision cutters, with training rooted in both Servilles and Vidal Sassoon disciplines, Matt and Lisa bring a refined, technical approach to their work—one that has been thoughtfully passed on to the wider BOBO team.
Senior stylists Caitlin Carter and Paige Shepherd, both with backgrounds in Servilles (with Paige also training at Dry & Tea), have worked alongside Matt and Lisa long before BOBO was established. This long-standing connection creates a natural synergy within the studio collaborative, intuitive, and highly considered. Caitlin is particularly known for her considered approach to balayage, with a reputation for creating seamless, natural-looking colour. She works alongside Matt as well as taking her own bookings.
Completing the team is Stylist Elena Palmer, whose experience spans Rodney Wayne CBD and Charleine Wain in the UK, bringing a depth of knowledge and a modern approach to cut and colour.
Together, the BOBO team shares a commitment to precision, consistency, and understated, high-quality hair.
